Plan drawings are the first and foremost requirement for any construction project. Architects and engineers provide the specifications, views, and concepts of the structure constructed as drawings. There are many types of plan drawings depending on the structure constructed. Examples include:
- Site plans
- Architectural drawings
- Foundation Plans
- Floor plans
- Sectional Drawings
- Elevation Drawings
- Production Drawings
- Structural Drawings
- Electrical layouts and specifications
- Plumbing layouts and specifications
- HVAC layouts
- Fire protection layouts
- Finishing Drawings
The plans drawings undergo revisions from time to time in the course of construction. It is imperative that the latest versions of the plans are shared among all project team members for everyone to be on the same page.
The 'Plans' module in the Linarc platform allows the contractors and architects to upload the plan sets in PDF format or image files. The system parses the PDF files into individual sheets, identifies the drawing sheet numbers, sheet titles, etc., and organizes them as per their categories. The plan sheets are available to the staff of all collaborating companies, both at the office and field. In addition to the web console, the plan sheets are accessible using the mobile application, which enables project managers and field staff to use the plans irrespective of their location.
Linarc allows users with appropriate permissions to upload plans, including new plan sets and revised plan drawings for existing sets, at any time. Your colleagues will see the latest version by default. However, if required, they can also view the previous versions of the plans.
The plans can also be attached to various items like RFIs, Submittals, change orders, punch lists, etc., through their dedicated modules.
You can also add various markups to the plan drawings and share them securely with other members. The plan markup tools are also available to annotate the drawings when using a plan sheet as an attachment to RFIs, Submittals, Punch lists, etc.
