Attach Photos to Markups

Photo markups provide quick, clear visual references for observations, reminders, or key details, ensuring that important information is easily understood and communicated across your team.

Offsite team members can upload photos from their local storage, while field staff have the flexibility to take a picture in real time or select one from their gallery. This article focuses on how to attach a photo markup using the web console. For guidance on attaching photos from a mobile device, see the Attach Photos article in the mobile guide.

To add a photo or an image as a markup

• Select the 'Image' tool from the toolbar.
• Click the spot on the drawing where you want to place the photo.
• Double-click the location icon that appears.

The 'Link a Photo' dialog shows the list previously attached to the same sheet and provides you an option to upload a picture from your device.

• To reuse an existing photo: Select a picture from the list to affix it to the selected spot.
• To add a new photo: Click Upload from Computer to select a saved photo from your device's storage.

Once added, the image is anchored to the selected spot as a markup.

• View: Hover your mouse over the location icon to view the attached image.
• Zoom: Use the zoom slider at the bottom of the image to zoom in and out.
• Clone: You can clone the markup to mark a similar area elsewhere on the drawing. See Clone and Reuse Markups for guidance.

Manage Your Markups

Every markup you add is automatically saved as a new layer within the Current Markup group, visible in the layer editor on the left side of your screen. From this editor, you can manage your elements:

• Rename: Click the element's label in the editor to give it a brief, descriptive name to keep your markups organized.
• Lock: Hover over the element and click theicon to prevent accidental edits or deletion.
• Hide/Show: Hover over the element and click theicon to temporarily hide or show the layer on your plan.
• Delete: Hover over the element and click theicon to remove a mistake.

You can continue using tools to add more markup elements as needed. Once you are finished annotating the plan, you must save the layer group. See Publish Markups for detailed instructions on finalizing your work.
