The Site Journal module keeps you informed and in control of daily field operations by compiling updates directly from the job site. It gathers inputs from site superintendents and foremen, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of all key activities.
- Comprehensive Field Data: Automatically captures site activity such as executed tasks, completed punchlist items, T&M work, inspections, safety incidents, and more—directly from the entries made by the field staff.
- Delivery, Equipment, & Visitor Logs: Records site deliveries and visits from stakeholders like owner representatives or local authorities, as reported by the site superintendent through a dedicated app.
- Real-Time Visibility for Office Teams: Provides project managers and office staff with a centralized, up-to-date view of all site events through an easy-to-navigate interface.
- Searchable Archive & PDF Reports: Maintains a searchable history of daily journals and allows generation of professional PDF reports for any selected day.
With the Site Journal module, you can:
- View the report for the current day or any day in the past
- Download the job site report as a PDF document
To view the Site Journal
- Ensure that you are in the Site Journal screen. If not,
- Click the app launcher icon in the top-right and select 'Field'
- Click 'Analytics' on the top, then select 'Site Journal' on the left
The list displays all recorded daily site journals for the project, along with summary details for each entry. You can view the site journal for the current day or any previous day by simply clicking on the corresponding date.
By default, the ‘All’ view includes every available column in the table. You can tailor the view to show only the columns relevant to you. For guidance on customizing your view, refer to Customize Columns in List Views.
Following is the list of all columns:
- Date - The date of the site journal entry. Click the date to open the full report for that day.
- Site Superintendent - The site superintendent or field-in-charge who submitted the report for that day.
- Tasks - The number of field tasks executed.
- For GC (General Contractor): Includes all tasks worked on by all contractors.
- For SCs (Subcontractors): Shows only the tasks worked on by that specific company.
- Punchlist - The number of punchlist items addressed.
- GC view includes all items completed by any contractor.
- SC view shows only those completed by the subcontractor.
- T&M - The number of T&M work items addressed.
- GC view includes all T&M tickets worked on by all contractors.
- SC view shows only tickets addressed by the subcontractor.
- Incidents - The number of safety incidents reported on site for that day.
- Delivery Log - The count of material and equipment deliveries recorded by field staff.
- Equipment Log - The number of equipment items deployed on-site that day, as reported by the field team.
- Visitors Log - The number of external visitors who accessed the site that day.
- Notes - The number of notes or comments added by the site reporter.
View the Site Journal for a Day
- Click the date for which you want to view the site report
All details included in the site journal of that day are shown in the respective sections, with the signature endorsement at the bottom. You can generate a PDF version of the report for sharing and record keeping at any time.
Generate a PDF version of the Report
The report screen allows you to save a copy of the report as a PDF file for sharing and record-keeping purposes.
To download site journal for a specific day
- Open the journal by clicking the date from the Site Journal screen
- Click the download button
at the top-right
The 'Downloads' pane displays a list of any previously generated PDF files, if any.
- Click 'Generate'
The system compiles the PDF version of the report. The process takes around 30 seconds.
- Reopen the 'Downloads' pane by clicking the 'PDF' button.
The recently created PDF file is shown at the top of the list if there are multiple items.
- Click
to open the file in a new browser tab.
- Click
to download it.
- File Name - The filename is automatically set to the name of the report, suffixed with the date stamp. Enter your preferred name in the text box to override the default.
- Click the 'Direct Download' button to save the file directly to your device.
You can also save the file on Linarc's cloud-based project file repository. This allows you to share it with other team members. The folder's access permissions determine which team members can view or edit the file.
- Company Drive- Share with the project team members from your organization:
- Select the folder that corresponds to your company name
- Navigate to the desired folder and click 'Save.'
- Project Drive- Share with the construction team members from any stakeholder organization, depending on the access rights set up for the folder:
- Select 'Project Drive'.
- Navigate to the appropriate folder and click 'Save.'
