Accept Invitations to Collaborate

Contractors can accept invitations to projects which enables them to collaborate with the main project organizer. For example, a general contractor in charge of a project invites subcontractors of various trades to collaborate on the project and assigns them jobs considering various criteria. 

There are different scenarios where contractors, architects, engineers, vendors, and other professionals are invited to participate and collaborate on a construction project. Examples include:

  • The owner creating a project in Linarc and inviting a  general contractor
  • The general contractor inviting subcontractors of various trades

The stakeholder can send invitations to potential companies to participate in their project from their project management console. The recipients can analyze and accept the invitation and enroll themselves in the project. Only enrolled companies are available to accept work from the general contractor. This article explains how to accept invitations from other contractors if you are invited to take part in a project. You get notified once you receive an invite.

View invitations

  • Login to your account and open the project portfolio screen

The 'All Projects' screen opens by default.

  • If you are on a different screen, click 'All Project' on the top to return to the 'All Projects' screen
  • Click the 'Invites' on the left

The 'Invites' tab shows the list of projects to which you are invited to collaborate: 

  • ProjectList - The name of the project. Click the name to peruse its details and accept the invitation.
  • Invited by - The project manager from the responsible company, for example, the general contractor, who sent the invite. 
  • Invited on - The date on which the invitation was sent
  • My role - The part of your company on the project, that is the category of the work for which you are invited. 
  • Construction - Nature of the work, whether the building is newly constructed, renovated, remodeled, etc. 
  • Building type - The classification of the building, depending on its occupancy and use, whether it is residential, commercial, educational, etc. 
  • Location - The address of the construction site.

Sorting options - Hover your mouse over a column header and click the arrow that appears to sort the rows in alphabetical order of items in that column.  

Search and filter options:

  • Use the 'Search' box at the top left to find the projects by using any value as search criteria
  • Click the icon at the top-right to select the columns to show or hide

 Download the report

  • Click the  icon at the top-right to download the projects list as an Excel file

Accept a project

  • Click the name of the project in the 'Project' column

The information screen of the selected project opens in a new tab.

  • Peruse the details
  • Enter values for the following fields:
    • Job Id - Enter an alphanumeric code to identify the project. Use a mix of uppercase letters and numbers of up to ten characters. This code will be used to identify the project in various Linarc modules.
    • Project Manager - The drop-down shows the list of project managers available in your company. Choose the project manager to assign to the project.
    • Start Date and Estimated End Date - The fields show the commencement and completion dates as set by the invitor. Choose the start date and end date as required, for example, based on your contract, consent from the GC, and the chosen PM's schedule.
  • Click the button at the top right.

Your company is added to the project's company directory. You can now access the management portal of the project and share relevant digital assets, accept jobs and manage the project. See The Project Management Console – Main interface for more details.
