Toolbox Talk events can be canceled or closed based on project needs and outcomes. Properly managing the status of Toolbox Talk events helps maintain accurate records and prevents confusion among project members. Project managers can cancel a toolbox talk event when a scheduled event will no longer take place, and close the event after a session has been conducted and all necessary attendance and documentation have been completed. You can
Prevent attendance entries or changes after the event’s status is closed or cancelled
Automatically notify project members about the cancellation or closure of the event
Keep your project’s safety meeting records clean and up to date by removing events that won’t occur or marking completed sessions accordingly
Note: The event should be in 'Open' status, if you need to close or cancel an event. You cannot cancel a closed event or vice versa.
Close a toolbox talk event
- Ensure that you are on the 'Toolbox Talk Events' screen of the project. If not,
- To open the project management console from any other part of the platform,
- Click the App Launcher button
in the top-right corner and select 'Portfolio' from the dropdown.
- Click the App Launcher button
- Click 'Safety' on top and 'Toolbox Event' on the left.
- Click on the serial number of the event to open its details pane on the right.
- Click the close event icon

Cancel a toolbox talk event
You can cancel a Toolbox Talk event anytime after it’s scheduled and before it begins.
Note: The event should be in 'Open' status, if you need to cancel an event. You cannot cancel a closed event.
- Ensure you are in the 'Toolbox Event' screen. If not
- Open the toolbox talk event screen as mentioned above.
- Click on the Serial number of the event to open the event details on the right.
- Click the cancel icon
. The event is cancelled and the project members are notified about the same.
Note: It is important to cancel an event before the start tine of the event so that the project memebers who attend the event are notified on time.
