Configure T&M Cost Codes for a Project

Modified on Mon, 19 May at 1:17 AM

Cost codes are essential for accurately tracking the costs of various construction activities. Within the T&M module, you can set up and maintain a dedicated list of project-level cost codes specifically for T&M work. This helps project managers streamline the selection process, reduce errors, and ensure that only relevant codes are used in T&M tickets, leading to more precise cost tracking and better control over project finances.

  • Company-wide T&M cost codes are maintained in a centralized master list.
  • Project managers can select applicable codes from the master list to create a project-specific T&M cost code list.
  • Only the selected codes will be available when field teams create T&M tickets.
  • Limiting cost code options helps reduce errors and ensures accurate cost classification for each ticket.

To add T&M cost codes to a project

  • Ensure you are on the T&M Setup screen within the T&M module of the project. If not:
    • Open the project, click the App Launcher icon, and select Finance.
    • Click T&M at the top, then select T&M Setup from the left-hand menu.

General contractor - Select your company name by clicking the serial number to open the task codes pane on the right

Subcontractors – The T&M Setup screen displays the thresholds defined for your company, including the maximum ticket value and the total funds allocated for T&M work. Only those tickets with estimates exceeding these thresholds are flagged for review. The Cost Code list pane appears on the right by default.

  • Select the row by clicking the serial number, if the cost code list is not appearing by default.

  • Click '+Add Cost Code' on the right

The list of cost codes for T&M included in the company-level master list is shown.

If the code you want to use is not in the list, contact your administrator.

  • Select the desired cost codes necessary for the project and click the 'Save' button

You can add more cost codes following the same process at any time throughout the life cycle of the project.
