Create a Punchlist Event

Modified on Sun, 3 Nov at 4:21 AM

The project manager or other site in-charge people like the Site superintendents or Foreman, belonging to the contractor managing the project typically the general contractor can create punch list events during periodic inspections, site walkthroughs, etc.

Roles and Permissions:
Only users with roles having 'Create,' 'Maintain,' or 'Manage' permission enabled for the Punch List module can create punch list events.
  • The event can be added on the go, during the inspection, or later from the site.
  • You can specify people who participated in the inspection/walkthrough so that they are notified at each progress stage of the items added to the event.
  • The trade type and the subcontractor, whose work is inspected is added as the default assignee to the list.

To create a punch list event

  • Select the project and open the Punch List module  on your Linarc mobile app
  • Ensure that you are in the 'Events' screen. Tap 'Events' at the bottom if you are in the 'Items' view

  • Tap the plus icon at the bottom

  • Enter the event details:

Event date – Prepopulated with the current date.  You can change it to any previous date if you create the event for an inspection done in the past.

Event name – Enter a label to identify the event

Event Type – Select the nature of the event, whether is an inspection, walkthrough, etc., from the drop-down

Trade – The division of work for which the inspection is made. Tap the down arrow and choose the trade from the list.

Participants – Select the people from different contractors, owner, and architect companies who participated in the inspection/walkthrough.

  • Click the user icon and select the people from the list of users from the construction team

The event gets added to the list. The next step is adding the identified defects as punch list items to the event. See the next page to learn more about adding items.
