Linarc allows contractors to create and maintain a detailed cost and labor estimate for their work in a construction project. The items include the child-level tasks, work packages, and activities they have to execute for the work items like deliverables assigned to them. The estimate stands as the baseline to calculate the financial performance of the project dynamically. The estimate is also used in calculating various financial data like SOV, budget exposure, etc.
- General contractor – Can create estimates with a list of child-level tasks and sub-tasks required to complete the self-assigned work items.
- Subcontractor – Can create estimates for a list of tasks and sub-tasks assigned to them by the general contractor. The estimate is n line with the bids they presented with their contract with the general contractor.
Once created, the estimates are added to the project.
- Schedule - Once an estimate is created and uploaded to a project, the project manager can add tasks and sub-tasks to the schedule from the estimate. A task item from an estimate can be repeatedly added to the schedule as field tasks, by distributing the estimated manhours to different assigned work items.
- Cost Data - The estimate allows you to specify amounts for different cost types like materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor costs, overheads, etc., for each item. These data are used by the job cost data module, which allows you to keep track of the payments you make under different cost types at different instances for each item. The details are used to track the financial performance of the project and calculate the key performance indicators, which are shown on various reports and dashboards.
Estimators and project managers can create an estimate for their task items through the ‘Budget’ > ‘Estimates’ interface.
