Lock the estimate

Modified on Tue, 22 Jul at 1:28 AM

After entering the estimated cost amounts for all line items across various cost types and saving the estimate, you can lock and publish it. Locking the estimate sets it as a fixed reference point for future comparisons and analysis. From the locked estimate, you can link costs to specific tasks, activities, or deliverables in the project’s schedule. Once an estimate is locked, it becomes read-only and cannot be changed, ensuring the data remains intact for auditing and accountability. You cannot:

  • Modify the original estimate values

  • Add sub line items

  • Delete any estimate line items

Any adjustments to the locked estimate must be handled through change orders.
