The 'Files' interface allows you to create folders and upload files from your local storage, set up access restrictions, and perform various file activities. You can also access files uploaded by others and shared with you.
- The project repository ships with a default folder structure as defined at your company level to efficiently manage files and documents across various categories.
- You can create subfolders and save files in the predefined folders
- You can also create new folders/subfolders, remove unwanted folders, and rename folders as you wish
- Copies of Project documents like Submittals, RFIs, and Change Orders get auto-saved in the respective folders, once they are closed and published.
Access the 'Files' module
- Open the management console for the project
- The Project module opens by default. Return to the project module if you are on a different module.
- Click the app launcher , then select 'Project.'
- Click 'Project' on the top
- Click 'Files' on the left
The interface shows the list of folders and files in the folder tree structure, with their details.
- Right-click on an item for various file/folder operations:
Folder options
- Add Folder - Create a sub-folder
- Add File - Upload files to the folder from your local storage
- Access - Set visibility settings for the folder. You can set the folder and its contents to be accessible only by selected people and companies, as required.
- Remove - Delete the folder from the storage. Please note that only the folders that do not contain any items inside can be removed.
- Rename - Change the label of the folder.
File operations
- Preview/Open - Opens the files in the browser window. File types that are not supported by the browser are downloaded.
- Download - Saves the file on your local storage.
- Remove (Delete) - Deletes the file from the project's cloud storage.
- Rename - Change the label of the file.
