View Planned SOV for the Project

Modified on Fri, 20 Dec at 6:48 AM

The Linarc SOV module offers general contractors a comprehensive view of the planned Schedule of Values (SOV) across the entire project life cycle. The module:

  • Extracts budget allocations for the tasks, deliverables, activities, and other WBS-based work items along with their planned execution timelines from the project's master schedule.
  • Calculates the progress percentages expected for each month.
  • Factors the working days and the site holidays into these calculations.

The module compiles these data into a detailed "Planned SOV" report, which breaks down cost values and projected payments for each budget line item across successive months, spanning the entire project timeline. This report provides general contractors with a clear forecast of expected monthly cash flow, serving as a vital tool for financial planning. Additionally, it establishes a baseline for tracking actual expenditures against the plan, enabling contractors to assess the project's financial health, anticipate risks, and make informed decisions to maintain control over the budget. Also, the planned SOV dynamically updates every time new items are added to the schedule with their budget allotments.

Change Orders

As and when change orders are finalized, recorded, and added to the project schedule, the funds are auto-allocated to the work items in the change order work and assigned to respective contractors. Using the timelines and the fund allocations these items are included in the Planned SOV. This ensures that as CO tasks progress, the updates are directly reflected in the Contractor’s SOV, and processed/approved by the GC.
