Linarc's Project Calender allows the general contractor to set up the site's working weekdays and general holidays. The weekends and the holidays, when the site remains closed, are taken into account when calculating days, for example, the timelines of scheduled tasks.
- The holidays and the weekends are defined at the project level and apply to all contractor companies collaborating on the project.
- The weekends and the holidays are factored into calculating timelines of scheduled tasks based on their duration and dependencies. Examples include start and end days, early start/early finish, and late start/late finish.
- The holidays are excluded when calculating due dates for workflow steps for items like RFI, Submittals, Change Orders, etc.
- Foremen cannot schedule their field tasks on the site holidays and weekends.
- Crew members cannot clock in their timecards on the site holidays and weekends.
Roles:
- General contractor - Can set up weekly working days and general holidays and edit them at any time, at the project level. They cannot select holidays as start/end or working days for tasks assigned to subcontractors.
- Subcontractors - Can only view the working days and general holidays and cannot edit them for their convenience. They have to follow the working day calendar as set by the GC.
The Project Calendar screen allows you to:
Holiday List Generation:
- Linarc can generate a list of national and public holidays within the project's timeline, from start to estimated end date.
- Holidays are pulled from the country's/state’s gazetted holiday list.
- Configure the dates on which the site remains open or closed from this holiday list.
Update Holiday List with Timeline Changes:
- Easily regenerate and update the holiday list if the project's duration changes, including:
- A new start date earlier than initially planned.
- A new end date later than originally estimated.
Edit Holiday Calendar:
- Update the holiday list at any time by:
- Changing weekly working days.
- Removing previously declared general or custom holidays.
- Adding new general or custom holidays.
Reset the Holiday Calendar:
- Reset the calendar by removing the entire holiday list and creating a new one.
Impact of Changes:
When the holiday list is updated, schedule items and due dates of the document items will be automatically adjusted to reflect these changes. This means that tasks, milestones, and deadlines affected by the new holidays will be recalculated from the effective date of the update. The adjustments ensure accurate scheduling by accommodating the added or removed holidays, helping to maintain realistic project timelines and prevent potential delays caused by unaccounted non-working days.

- Click the app launcher , select 'Project,' click 'Project' on the top, and then select 'Calendar' from the options on the left
You can configure the following:

You can configure two types of site holidays:
- Public Holidays - Allows you to select the national holidays that apply to the site.
- Custom Holidays - Allows you to specify dates apart from public holidays. For example, the 'Founder's Day,' 'Professional Development Day,' or Holidays specific to that state or county.

The list of public holidays that fall within the project duration gets generated.

- Repeat the process to select more holidays from the public holiday list
Your settings are auto-saved. You can add or withdraw pre-declared holidays at any time during the project lifecycle following the same process. These changes instantly update the project schedule, effective from the date of modification.
Once set up, you can:
- Remove holidays from the list
- Reset the holiday list and create a new one
- Update the holiday list to align with changes in the project timeline

Reset the holiday list and create a new one
The Linarc project calendar offers an option to clear the entire holiday list at once. This is particularly useful if you wish to reset the holiday calendar configuration and start fresh from scratch.

- Click the trashcan icon on the top-right
- Confirm your action
The list gets removed. You can start configuring a new holiday calendar, as explained above.
Update the Holiday List for Changes in the Project Timeline
Due to various factors, the planned duration of a project may be extended. In such cases, both the planned start date and estimated end date may need to be adjusted to reflect these changes. As a result, the holiday list should be updated to cover the new extended period. The holiday calendar allows you to regenerate the list whenever there is a shift in the project’s planned start or estimated end date. This includes:
- A new start date that is earlier than initially planned.
- A new end date that is later than the original estimate.
The 'Generate Holidays' button above the list gets enabled once there is a change in the planned dates as listed above.
To update the public holiday list
- Click the 'Generate Holidays' button
The 'Public Holidays' list gets appended with the new entries covering the new extended period
- Scroll to that portion and enable or disable the holidays as explained above.
Set up Custom Holidays
In addition to public holidays, you can specify custom holidays for the site depending on your requirements. For example, Founder's Day, days that are holidays in that community but not listed in the public holidays list, etc.
- Open the Project Calendar
- Open the 'Custom Holidays' tab in the 'Holiday List' pane.
- Click 'Add New Row' at the bottom to create a new holiday record
- Enter the details:
- Date - Double-click in the cell and select the date from the calendar
- Holiday - Enter the subject of the holiday
- Site Open - Indicates whether the day is a working day or holiday. By default the day is marked as a holiday. Use the checkbox to mark it as a working day, if required.
- Click 'Save' to save the record
- Repeat the process to add more custom holidays
Your settings are auto-saved.
You can add more and withdraw pre-declared holidays, remove inadvertently added holiday entires and reset the list as explained above.
- Use the 'Download' button to save a PDF version of the holiday list for sharing and record-keeping purposes
