Authorize a T&M Ticket - General Contractor

Modified on Fri, 18 Apr at 1:31 AM

T&M tickets with estimates exceeding set funding limits require authorization from the general contractor before execution.  The designated project manager from the general contractor's team gets notified whenever a T&M ticket is forwarded to them for authorization.

Background: The general contractor defines thresholds for both individual T&M tickets and the total cumulative T&M allowance per contractor. Tickets that fall within these limits are auto-authorized and can proceed without further approval. Authorization is required in the following cases:
  • The ticket’s estimated cost exceeds the individual ticket threshold
  • The total T&M allowance is nearly depleted, and the ticket exceeds the remaining balance
  • The contractor’s allotted T&M budget has been fully used

To authorize a T & M ticket

  • Ensure that you are in the project's T & M management module. If not,
    • Open the project management console
    • Click the app launcherand select 'Finance'
    • Click 'T&M' on the top.

The 'Boards' screen opens by default. The tickets pending your review and authorization are listed under 'Pending Authorization.'

  • Open the ticket from the 'Pending Authorization' column.

Alternatively, if you are in the 'Logs' view, click the name of the ticket to open it.

  • Review the ticket details carefully.
  • If needed, enter your remarks in the ‘Comments’ box and click ‘Save’ to share them with other participants involved in the T&M work.
  • Click ‘Authorize’ to approve the ticket and release it for execution.
  • Click ‘Reject’ and enter the reason to decline the ticket. It will be closed with the status ‘Rejected.’
Tip: Click the iconto generate and download the PDF version of the ticket with the details of the progress so far. You can use the PDF for sharing with others, should the ticket needs inputs from them, and record keeping. See Generate and Download PDF Versions of Documents to learn more.

The approved tickets will be notified to the foreman of the responsible SC company for work execution.
