The formatting options at the top-left of the grid allow you to apply colors to the text, background, and borders to the cells and rows for each identification and visual distinction of items. You can:
- Set up colors for the letters and characters in the selected cells or rows
- Set up a color fill for selected cells or rows
- Set up borders for selected cells or rows
To format text and cells/rows
- Ensure that you are in the grid view of the project schedule. If not in the grid view:
- Click the app launcher , then select 'Schedule'
- Click 'Planner' on the top and select 'Grid' on the left.
- Expand the WBS hierarchy to the desired level
Set up the text color
- To set up text color to a cell, select the cell
- To set up text color to the entire row, select it by clicking on the serial number
- Use the 'Ctrl' or 'Shift' key on your keyboard to select multiple rows at once
- Click the icon
- Choose the color from the color picker. Click here for more help on this.
- Click elsewhere on the grid for the color to take effect
Set up fill color to a cell or row(s)
- To set up a background fill color for a cell, select the cell
- To set up a background fill color to the entire row, select it by clicking on the serial number
- Use the 'Ctrl' or 'Shift' key on your keyboard to select multiple rows at once
- Click the icon

Set up a border to a cell or row(s)
- To set up a border to a cell, select the cell
- To set up a border for the entire row, select it by clicking on the serial number
- Use the 'Ctrl' or 'Shift' key on your keyboard to select multiple rows at once
- Click the icon

- Click elsewhere on the grid for the color to take effect
Select the color
There are two ways in which you can specify color:
1. Color picker
- Drag the slider in the color spectrum bar to select the hue
- Drag the circle in the color field to select the shade
- Drag the slider in the opacity bar to set the color transparency level
The color coordinates of the chosen color are auto-populated in the text box at the bottom
2. Color coordinates
- Click the arrows at the bottom right repeatedly to switch between HEX, RGBA, and HSLA input modes
- Enter the HEX, RGBA, or HSLA value of the color you want to assign to the item
