Workflow Managers

Modified on Tue, 29 Oct at 5:27 AM

A construction project involves numerous project documents and items like submittals and RFI that undergo a workflow for review, clarifications, approval, etc., by different stakeholders in successive steps, throughout their lifecycle. Linarc allows you to implement a custom workflow for each of the project documents depending on the creator, type, nature, etc., of the item.

  • Each item gets routed to the responsible company for review, clarification, approval, etc., depending on their workflow configuration on completion of the previous step.
  • Once an item moves to your company, the designated project team members get an alert to attend to that item.

The 'Workflow Team' screen of the project management console shows the list of people who can manage different types of workflow items for the project.

  • Background - Each employee in a company is assigned roles. Each role comprises a set of permissions to different modules and mobile apps in Linarc.
  • All project team members with 'Manage' permission for the RFI and/or Submittal modules are automatically added as the workflow team members for the respective module.
  • As a prerequisite, the person should have been added to the project team. See Manage Project Team Members for more details.
  • Only the workflow team member for a module can:
    • Set up a workflow sequence for the managed item - applies only to GC companies
    • Add their responses and comments if the company is assigned to 'Answer,' 'Respond,' 'Approve,' or 'Close' in the workflow.
    • Forward an item to the next step in its workflow after they or any other project team member has responded to it
  • Other project team members with relevant permissions can access the item routed to your company and add their responses and comments. They cannot route the item to the next step in the workflow.
