    Remove a task

      Article Summary

The schedule interface allows you to delete unwanted schedule items like a phase, deliverable, task, or work package before publishing them

      • You can remove unpublished schedule items at any level in the hierarchy. If a parent-level task is removed, all its children are also removed.
      • You can also remove checkpoints, inspection events, and milestones from the schedules.
      Limitations:
      • Only unpublished items can be removed from the schedule. Published items cannot be edited or removed.
      • Only tasks that do not have any dependents can be removed. You cannot directly remove a task if it is a predecessor of one or more items in the schedule. To remove a predecessor task, first remove it from the dependencies of the dependent items, then remove the task.  Click here to read more about dependencies.
      • Subcontractors cannot remove tasks assigned to them by the general contractor, as those are already published.

      • Identify the row containing the schedule item you want to delete.
